On the 3rd November 2011, and despite the rain, Ravensbourne opened their doors to welcome over 180 guests to the 2nd bluegfx expo.
The day was a huge success and all guests were treated to special talks from the leading lights of the Film & TV, Games and Design Viz industries, along with product demonstrations from the likes of Autodesk and Chaos Group and lively panel discussions, debating the hottest topics.
Highlights of the day included:
Film & TV
We were thrilled to have so many willing speakers at the expo including representatives from 5 of the largest post production facilities in London: Framestore, MPC, Double Negative, Cinesite and Prime Focus.
We were also fortunate to have Mick Morris from the MoCap company, Audiomotion, and special praise goes to Alan Marques who took us on a journey, looking at how VFX in film and TV has changed over the past 10 years.
Saddington Baynes were kind enough to talk twice, the first reflected on how they have evolved from a company that just produced beautiful rendered images to offering the full creative portfolio, and secondly, they talked about why they made the switch to V-Ray for Maya.
The very talented Architectural Visualizer, Alex York and HDR Light Studio presented their latest Version 3 product release.
With the ever increasing capabilities of smart phones, we were delighted to have two special speakers from the world of ‘Social’ gaming.
Tanguy Dewavrin from doublesix games spoke on the topic of “Mobile VS. console game development” and mills, Chief Wonka, at apps developer, gave an honest and frank account of the ups and downs of developing games for iOs. If you missed any of it, then remember to keep an eye out for the videos when they go live.
As well as standout presentations from our industry leaders, we were also supported extensively by some of our key partners, which included:
Adobe, Autodesk, AMD, BlueArc, Chaos Group, HDR Light Studio, Peer1 & Wacom
